In August we were lucky enough to find the time to take another trip to Mumbai to give out some fruit and meet the children and families who live in the slums. Mumbai (Bombay) is a 12 hour train journey away from The Mango House so it is always a big trip, this time five of us made the tip including Maggie and her son, Sue, Shermina and Rob. We jumped in a Taxi to see some of the areas we would give out fruit the next day and spent the rest of the day recvovering from the train journey. Our main reason for going was to do fruit runs to small pockets of slums that could be found on the side of the roads and disused land. It was an experience for Maggie and Son especially as it was their first time to Mumbai. We found the wholesale market and bought around 500 apples to give out. It is never an easy job giving out fruit but thankfully as you can see from the pictures most of the children were very happy to receive them. Thank you to everyone who helped during the trip and we hope you like the photos.
